Ecosystem Ponds

These are the finest ponds which we can offer.

You may arrive here with an impression that the process of building a pond amounts to nothing more than - digging a hole in the ground, lining it, fixing rocks or flags around the edge (as per still water/bare liner ponds on the previous page) then, placing a pump at the bottom of the pond and installing an unsightly filter system somewhere at the back. But, ponds can be much more than this!

Back in 2019, we were introduced to the Aquascape way of doing things, and ever since, Elevate Ponds believe that the finest system available for pond construction, is that made by Aquascape, and these components are used to construct Ecosystem Ponds. Ecosystem Ponds, in comparison to ponds as you may know them, are a huge step up in visual attraction and ease of maintenance; more of which can be found out as you read through this website. If you are keen to see an Ecosystem Pond in person, just ask for an appointment to come and visit our display piece.

A brief history of our progression:

After five years of business and gaining significant recognition in the industry, 2019 was a turning point for Elevate Ponds, when Industry friend Mark ‘MJ Wilson aka ‘The Pond Advisor’ invited owner Luke to see how Ecosystem Ponds were built. He then asked him early the following year, to join him on a trip to the pond capital of the world – Aqualand Chicago; to meet team Aquascape and learn from the world’s best in all aspects of pond building. For Luke to meet the guys who had inspired his pond building via the TV show ‘Pond Stars’ several years earlier, meant this was a trip which couldn’t be turned down!

Soon after this trip, and once a training program was complete and backed up with proven results, ‘Certified Aquascape Contractor’ status was granted. Ultimately, this results in a superior pond installation and the benefits of an Ecosystem Pond include no visible liner, pump, hose, cables, or filtration equipment. All you see is artistically placed rock, gravel, wood, moss and planting, which results in ponds which work with, rather than against nature.

How much more natural looking can you get than that?

The Aquascape Ecosystem Ponds that we offer are complete, fully functional, low maintenance, nature-friendly (not to mention beautiful) ponds, which you can enjoy the moment we finish building them.

They say that not all ponds are created equal, but it is also true that not all Ecosystem Ponds are created equal. Both skill and artistry are just as important as the kit we use, and the artistry which can be applied only comes with experience.

But how can this work?

If you’re keen to read on, please head to the Filtration page where you can also read how these filtration techniques can be applied to the most naturally clear garden ponds, Koi ponds and swim ponds which can be built.

Standard Ecosystem Ponds are 2ft deep which, contrary to what you might read on the internet is suffice for most fish varieties in the UK. Ecosystem Ponds are suitable for your fish keeping requirements (Goldfish, Shubunkin, Sarasa etc) but please do bear in mind that, if you are planning on keeping Koi, (depending on what size pond you buy) they may outgrow your pond in the future. Please see ‘Ecosystem Koi Ponds’ if you are planning on growing a Koi collection.
