Swim ponds, as opposed to swimming pools, are essentially, beefed-up Ecosystem Ponds. Gaining in popularity in the UK and throughout Europe due to the growing trend of cold-water swimming and the associated health benefits, you can now have a natural swim pond of your own. The thing that will strike you the most after your first dip in an Ecosystem Swim Pond, is how good your skin feels. Compared to the dryness you will likely experience after being in a swimming pool, your skin will feel comparatively nourished, as though it has been subject to some kind of spa treatment. In the summer months in the UK, pond water temperatures can hit 20 degrees, so though not as warm as a heated swimming pool, it can be warmer than you might expect, during peak season. Each time we have a summer BBQ now and the kid’s friends are round, guess what – they all end up in my pond! (I just wish it was bigger)
