Pond Maintenance & Restoration

Not always the most glamorous side of the job, our maintenance service is largely focused on our ‘spring cleans’ when the majority of our customers have their annual clean & service. Depending on the weather, this commences early in the year and we usually aim to have the bulk done by Easter.

This service is carried out by our skilled team of two and can comprise of anything from minor works to a full ‘deep cleaning’ of your pond. We also carry out technical filter servicing and are fully trained and competent at servicing your Oase Proficlear drum filter systems.

All maintenance is charged for at £125 per hour +Vat (£150/hr).
Occasionally, for small jobs, 1-man servicing can be provided at £85/hr + Vat (£102/hr).
Travel (after 15mins each way) is also billed for.

A full annual clean of an Ecosystem Pond comprises of:

• Setting up of a holding pool and pumping out all (clean) water along with any fish stock and wildlife.
• Removal by hand of leaf debris.
• Trimming of aquatic plants.
• Full jet-washing of all stone within.
• Thorough rinsing of gravels.
• Stripping and cleaning of Skimmer & Biofalls.
• Servicing of pump(s).
• Checking of lighting (if applicable).
• Redistribution of gravels, tidying of edges, and replacement of moss.
• Returning of mature water & livestock, topping up and test.

The average full service takes 3-4hrs.

None-Ecosystem Ponds with external filter systems and UV units will also receive thorough servicing. Replacement UV bulbs will be charged for additionally.
